project jumper :: street art for the masses

JUMPER is my stage name. I do street art. Street art is what I do. My line of work varies from postering and template based graffiti to digital art. At the moment I'm exploring new ways and ideas with which to fill the streets of the city I live in - Tel Aviv.

Why street art? Because its there. The feedback to your work is immediate and the its free. It also has the minor rush of doing something illegal, exciting and innovative.

It started out as an experiment, to see if and how people will react. The reaction and compliments drove me to do more. The understanding of things that previously looked obvious have turned them into a canvas and into a tool to express myself. Not all my work has meaning, some has more than one. I hope people will be able to make their own out of what I do and relate to it in any way they wish. As long as it sets off an emotion, I'm more than happy.

I truly hope my work encourages more people to think and to make art in general and street art especially. A city is the people who make it, and the people who leave their mark in it. Street art isn't about ownership and isn't about writing your name big. Its about saying something you want people to hear...

we all need a medium to express ourselves. I guess the street is mine.
